Rick Murphey, Owner/Proprietor

Rick was born in Dallas and raised in Tyler. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and Tyler Junior College. He received a degree in jewelry and watch making from Kilgore Junior College, and attended Texas A&M University.

Rick has a wonderful wife, Judie, two daughters, and four grandchildren. Besides spending time with his family, Rick enjoys watching sports, working out and playing golf when time permits.

Rick is active in the community, having membership at Marvin Methodist Church, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Better Business Bureau where he was recently a board member. Rick Murphey the Jeweler also participates in local charity events such as the Cattle Baron's Gala, Children's Miracle Network, Mistletoe and Magic and the TISD foundation.

He is the fifth generation for Murphey the Jeweler. His work ethic and retail knowledge of jewelry business was instilled by his father with whom he worked for eighteen years. After his father retired, Rick and his brother opened their own stores. Rick brought Rick Murphey the Jeweler to the Green Acres Shopping Village in September of 2002. Being an independent jeweler allows Rick to give personal service and develop trust from his customers.
